If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind outdoor educational experience, Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center has a lot to offer. Located in Sioux City, Iowa, this center allows visitors to explore over 1,000 acres of woodlands, Loess Hills prairies, and bur oak forests that will leave you breathless.
When you visit, the center offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You'll find 3 miles of trails that are perfect for hiking (design for all hikers' skill levels) or just soaking in the majesty of Western Iowan wilderness. It's a place where you can take in the sights, sounds, and smells of nature—and relax. And that’s if you make it out of the center itself, with all of it's incredible hands-on exhibits that allow you to engage in learning about the plants and animals of the area. Honestly, if you love nature this is the place for you. The best part is that these beautiful adventures are completely free to the public, so there's no need to make reservations or pull out your wallet, just lace up those hiking boots, pack your backpack and get out there!
